Francisco Perez Rodriguez

          Funeral services for Francisco Perez Rodriguez, 87, of Lufkin, will be held Saturday, February 28, 2026, at 12:00 p.m. at St. Andrews the Apostle Catholic Church in Lufkin with Father Joby Thomas officiating. Interment will follow at Garden of Memories Cemetery in Lufkin.

          Mr. Rodriguez was born on December 3, 1938, in Guanajuato, Mexico, to the late Isidoro Perez Pedraza and Epifania (Rodriguez) Perez Pedraza, and died Tuesday, February 24, 2026, in Lufkin.

          Francisco was a very hard worker who adored his loving family and enjoyed spending time with his loving wife of 63 years, as well as his children and great-grandchildren. He was quick with a witty joke and could easily make people laugh. He spent his free time cheering on his favorite soccer teams and enjoying the beautiful east Texas weather while raising chickens, tending his vegetable garden and pestering the squirrels.

           He is survived by his wife, Juana Lopez of Lufkin; children, Guadalupe Perez and husband, Carlos Olvera of Lufkin; Martin Perez of Lufkin; Juan Perez of Lufkin; Angeles Perez of Lufkin; Hortensia Perez of Lufkin; Dulce Perez and husband, Erick Carrera of Lufkin; grandchildren, Ryan Glasgow and wife Jeanette Glasgow of Forney, Texas; Griselle Perez and husband, Manuel Arroyo of Lufkin; Juan Perez and wife, Claudia Perez of Lufkin; Stephanie Olvera of Lufkin; Charlie Olvera of Lufkin; Martin Perez of Lufkin; Ashley Moreno and Gabriel Garza of Lufkin; Brandon Perez of Lufkin; Joyce Olvera of Lufkin; Yuliana Moreno of Lufkin; Julio C. Jr. Moreno of Lufkin; Reyna Perez of Lufkin; Mia Moreno of Lufkin; Jeremy Palmateer of Lufkin, Ian Moreno of Lufkin; Christian Palmateer of Lufkin; Mariana Carrera of Palacios, Texas; Makayla Carrera of Palacios; Jacob Carrera of Palacios; 12 great-grandchildren; brother, Jesus Perez; sister, Cruz Perez; and numerous nieces and nephews.

           Mr. Rodriguez was preceded in death by his parents, two brothers and one sister.

           Pallbearers will be Martin Perez, Martin Perez, Jr., Charlie Olvera, Brandon Perez, Ryan Glasgow, and Julio C. Moreno.

          Visitation will be held from 5:00p.m. to 8:00 p.m., Friday, February 27, 2026, at Shafer Funeral Home, Lufkin. A Rosery will be recited at 6:00 p.m.
